FAQs

I’m normally quite sceptical of recruitment trainers, but Mitch was always someone I admired. This only grew once I did one of his online courses. I highly recommend them. They are both refreshing and useful.

Since taking the copywriting course, my use of words such as ‘dynamic’, ‘innovative’ and ‘unparalleled’ has reduced 90%.  On behalf of my target candidate audience, I would like to thank you.

I’ve always had a keen interest in marketing and was familiar with the concepts the Copywriting for Recruiters course laid out.  However, Mitch’s expertise as a recruiter-marketer helped me implement these strategies into my recruitment process with fantastic results.

I have seen a huge improvement in applications from relevant candidates. Also, now it takes me less than 1 hour to write a new job ad, whereas before it used to take at least 2 hours.

After doing the copywriting course more than 18 months ago, I now use things I picked up on the course without even realising it. Today it’s hard to believe that people applied to some of the adverts I posted prior to doing the course.

How does tripling your advert engagement sound? That’s what it did for me. I’ve had candidates say ‘I wasn’t really looking, but I loved how the company sounded in the ad’.

I still have a long way to go before I’m an expert job ad writer, but this course lays some great foundations for becoming good at it. It’s given me a solid framework to follow and some short, snappy phrases that will make my adverts flow.

The pre-recorded element of the course was split up into bitesize chunks really well and the content was informative and thought-provoking. For someone who’s been in recruitment over 20 years, I learnt so much from this training programme.

Over the years, I’ve attended a LOT of L&D programs/courses and they usually don’t connect with me the way this one did. Seriously the most valuable training course I’ve been on in years!

Why are my job ads not working?

Probably because you’re posting job descriptions rather than job adverts. Not doing that is the starting point to being able to craft something people will want to read.

Isn’t it easier to get Chat GPT to write my job ads?

Yes, definitely. But much would depend how good the advert needs to be to attract the right types of candidates. If it needs to look like all the other job posts, Chat GPT works just fine.

Plus, you should aim higher than repeating what everyone else (including Chat GPT) is doing. One day it will stand you in good stead, if only because you’ll know how to prompt AI properly.

Plus, writing and being creative should be the fun part of being a recruiter.

Do I need a certain amount of recruitment experience?

It makes no difference whether you have 6 months or 6 years experience. In fact, recruiters with less experience usually have fewer bad habits to unpack.

How long does the pre-recorded course take to complete?

If you do it properly, around 3 hours. You can do it in as many sessions as you want and revisit any parts of the course as often as you want. You’ll have access to the course for 30 days from the day you first login.

Do I need to be naturally creative?

No. Being creative isn’t necessary to produce effective job adverts. It’s more about structuring your ads properly and presenting the information in a way that encourages the reader to want to keep reading. Creativity is far less reliable than structure and clear, unambiguous writing.

Will this course help me become more creative?

Yes, but only once you’ve mastered structure, style and tone of voice. If you want to become an effective copywriter capable of producing blogs, articles, emails and even ad campaigns, this course would be the start of that journey.

Do active and passive candidates read job postings differently?

Yes. Qualified people who aren’t desperate for a job, will only read a job post if it starts off by telling them how the job might be better than the one they’re currently doing. It gives them a reason to keep reading, which is a job ad’s primary objective.

If the job ad is just a copy of the JD, then passive candidates will click away within seconds and active candidates will skim read.

Are there any cultural differences in how people read job ads?

No. When faced with a potential buying decision, everyone is primarily motivated by their own self-interests.

Their first priority (either consciously or subconsciously) is whether what’s on offer might improve their life in some way. It doesn’t matter if they’re buying a new job or a new fridge.

Do I need to already be a good writer?

No. But you do need to be unafraid of the process of writing.

Will this course help me become a better writer?

Yes. Once you learn structure and some fundamental copywriting techniques, you’ll gradually become a better writer, the more you practice.

Is there any ongoing support after the training?

Yes. On completing the Standard Course you’ll be given a 61-page ebook that gives you a permanent resource to always be able to refer back to. If you want individual coaching support, the best option is the Personal Course. If you’re part of a larger team of 6 or more, the Group or Full courses are the best option.

Why are the group workshops limited to a maximum of 10 people?

Experience has taught us that it becomes harder to give everyone the individual attention they need if there are more than 10 people. If you have a group of 16 recruiters you’d like trained, we’d run 2 workshops of 8 people.

Is there a satisfaction guarantee?

Yes. If you work through the entire course and you’re not satisfied, please let us know within 30 days. We know the training works, so the only reason you might not be satisfied (that we can think of) is because your job ads were already of a high standard.

Can I take any customer references?

Yes. There’s a small sample of individual testimonials here (from named recruiters with links to their LinkedIn profile). For a list of contact details of previous corporate customers who booked our Group Course, email Mitch at mitch@copywritingforrecruiters.com

Can I see a preview?

Yes. To access a free lesson please click here. You can see the course overview in the ‘What’s in the online course’ section on the left of that page. It should give you a better sense of the quality and style of the course and the integrity of the content. You can also experience the course here, for less than it costs to buy a round of drinks.

Can I contact the trainers?

The Standard Course is designed to be a self-contained online course. However, if you have any questions or need any help, please email mitch@copywritingforrecruiters.com

How do I pay?

You can pay in your own currency using PayPal or your credit/debit card. The fee includes VAT or whatever sales tax applies in your country. If your company process requires an invoice in advance of payment, please email suzie@copywritingforrecruiters.com
